Hungarian 08 Jancsi Torta (page 279) – last take of hearts

i tested that ROSE’S heavenly CAKES: Hungarian Jancsi Torta (page 279), is freezable.  so months after i baked this cake, i ate the last piece, trimmed with a heart shape cookie cutter.

here it is as a group of hearts:  hector’s take on (from top right) chocolate covered strawberry cake, hungarian jancsi torta, no bake cheesecake, banana refrigerator cake, zach’s la bomba, and many splendored quick bread.  all of these come from my frozen dash of cakes

hector’s take on ROSE’S heavenly CAKES: No-Bake Whipped Cream Cheesecake (page 257), has been well received.  i present this cake as a dessert for the coffee lover.  it is the perfect after-dinner cup-of-coffee.

1- i like to wrap a flattened cupcake foil liner on one corner of the slice, this will support the cheesecake crust, which tends to fall when the slice is laying on the serving plate.


2- i also like to include a little packet of sugar, just as if you would be serving a cup of coffee!  for the coffee-with-sugar lovers, sprinkle the sugar on the cake.  maui turbinado sugar is perfect on this.

note that this cheesecake freezes perfectly.  the cream cheese and the gelatin must stabilize the sourcream and the custard!

this is how to unmold hector’s take on ROSE’S heavenly CAKES: No-Bake Whipped Cream Cheesecake (page 257):  dip the pan in hot boiling water for about 5 minutes; insert a small spatula on on side of the cheesecake and lift to release pressure; invert.

this is how to compose hector’s take on ROSE’S heavenly CAKES: No-Bake Whipped Cream Cheesecake (page 257).

1- replace the creme fraiche and the lemon juice with espresso shots, by weight:

2- use a 10-cup bundt pan, lightly sprayed with oil.

3- fill the pan with the cheesecake batter, and freeze:

this is a coffees of hawaii version.  replace the creme fraiche and the lemon juice with espresso shots, by weight.

for the sweeter tooth, i would suggest topping this coffee cheesecake with a generous sprinkle of turbinado sugar or with a caramel butterscotch sauce.
