Torta 02 de las Tres Leches (page 211) – kitty kathy

when i saw this cake plate, i could not resist but think for my photographer and partner in crime Kathy.  she loves wearing a tigress (or zebra?) blouse!  but really, an animal cake plate isn’t my style, until this one… when i found out that the tail wiggles yet it detaches and hides a cake knife!

here is the 6×3″ round pan take for ROSE’S heavenly CAKES: Torta de las Tres Leches (page 211).

i believe the crust over browned because the pan i used is made of thin aluminum.  i also didn’t use rose’s silicone cake strip which perhaps would be the perfect solution when the pan is in doubt.  talking about less dark topics, don’t you agree that the rose pattern is such great way to style this cake?  it really is easy to do by placing your cake on a turntable.
i used rose tip GIANT size, the opening is close to 2″ and the base close to 3″

Cute cake plate, H. And I do love the whole-cake-as-a-rose look, it’s so beautiful and elegant, yet doesn’t come across as overly fussy. Very modern.

M, perhaps this is the normal crust color for this biscuit recipe? Darker than cake bible’s recipe.

Tiger print for a cake plate is innovative esp, when you kinda associate tiger prints to glamour, smile.

Love the idea of a knife for the tail, thats pretty convenient.

H, I agree 110% that the Rose pattern is the best way to style this cake. It is so pretty – I can’t even decide which take I like best, this one or the heart shaped pan that you did. It’s impossible to choose, they are both breathtakingly gorgeous.
Love the kitty cat plate also :).

J, rose patterns, for a round cake, start piping the petals from the center. for the heart cake, make the center off center. similar to my double chocolate valentine mango take, it starts off center.
